Competence by Design (CBD) curriculum with progressive training through four stages: Transition to Discipline, Foundations, Core of Discipline, and Transition to Practice, emphasizing progressive independence and entrustable professional activities.

Urban academic environment with multiple training sites including Diagnostic and Scientific Centre, Foothills Medical Centre, Alberta Children's Hospital, and 12 additional community/rural laboratories in Southern Alberta.
