How the match uses your rank list
CaRMS: how the algorithm works ↗ (opens in a new tab)- Rank in your true order of preference. The algorithm tries your first choice first. Where you put a program on your list doesn’t change where that program ranks you.
- Rank every program you’d be willing to attend, and none you wouldn’t.The result is binding. In CaRMS’s worked example, both unmatched applicants ranked too few programs.
- Multi-site programs: each site is ranked separately. On this site, each site already has its own row.
- Couples can rank pairs of programs. Both partners submit the same number of ranks.
