Summary

Queen's University Family Medicine offers a comprehensive two-year residency program based on the College of Family Physicians of Canada's 'Triple C' Curriculum. The program provides diverse training experiences across four sites in Southeastern Ontario, preparing highly competent generalist family physicians who can work anywhere in Canada.

Supported by Centre for Studies in Primary Care, with opportunities for resident research projects and presentations at annual Primary Care Research Day.

Training setting

Urban and rural training sites across Southeastern Ontario, including Kingston, Belleville, Peterborough, and Bowmanville. Primary training occurs in community clinics, hospitals, and long-term care facilities.

Teaching approach

Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) with a focus on comprehensive learning, continuity of patient care, and family medicine-centered education. Emphasizes progressive independence and adult learning principles.
