Summary

The TMU Psychiatry Program is a community-driven residency program based in busy community hospitals, offering a wide array of clinical placement opportunities. In this small program, residents will work with dynamic faculty and experience a learner-centered approach, emphasizing equity, diversity, inclusion, and exposure to multicultural populations.

Training

Research
Residents have protected research time, a Scholarly Activity Lead physician, and opportunities for publication and scholarly work.
Training setting
Training occurs across multiple hospital sites in Peel and surrounding communities, including urban and rural environments, with inpatient and outpatient settings.
Teaching approach
A learner-centered and tailored approach to training, emphasizing progressive competency acquisition, with clinical responsibilities organized to reflect residents' gradual skill development.
