Summary

McMaster University's Waterloo Regional Campus offers a community-based Internal Medicine residency training program that combines excellent clinical training with academic and research support. The program aims to prepare residents for community or tertiary-site practice as generalists or subspecialists, focusing on comprehensive patient care from chronic multi-system disease to critically ill patients.

Training

Research

Residents are required to complete a quality assurance project, with support from research directors and access to world-class researchers. One to two research blocks are available during training.

Training occurs across multiple community hospitals in the Waterloo-Wellington Region, including WRHN @ Queen's, WRHN @ Midtown, Cambridge Memorial Hospital, and Guelph General Hospital, providing diverse clinical experiences.
